My role in the department
Dr Amanuel Bekuma is a Research Scientist working with the frost protection team.
His research currently focuses on bacteria induced frost injury in cereals, and his main area of interest is plant-microbe interactions.
My background
Amanuel completed his PhD at Murdoch University in 2017 with a dissertation that centred on rhizobium and nitrogen fixation. Previously, he worked with the barley team on a heat stress project at Murdoch University, in collaboration with DPIRD.
