Remarks

  • Gubbing is only successful if the top 20cm of root is also removed.
  • Biological control has not been successful so far, but agents released in Sudan look promising.
  • For larger trees use cut stump or frill application applying undiluted chemical.
  • Buffel grass helps prevent re-establishment by releasing phytotoxic chemicals into the soil and by competition.

  • Apply as foliar spray to seedlings and small trees.
  • Other products:
    • Grazon Extra containing 8g/L aminopyralid in addition to 100g/L picloram + 300g/L triclopyr.
    • Metsulfuron @ 20g/100L water applied as a foliage spray to bushes up to 2m in height.
    • Arsenal (250g/L) imazapyr @ 500mL/100L water applied as a foliage spray to bushes up to 2m in height.
    • A paraffinic wetting agent is used with these two treatments.
  • These are approved for use in Queensland.
