The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) has the opportunity, throughout the evokeAG. 2024 activation period in Perth, to focus on and promote the regions to a significant delegation of international, national, and local attendees.

Western Australia is a vast and diverse state, covering an area of more than 2.5 million square kilometres. Outside of the Perth metropolitan area, the state is divided into nine regions to support the exceptional spread of environment and climate aspects.

With support and input from the Regional Development Commissions, visitors are offered the opportunity to explore WA's South West and experience the unique agtech, primary production, and agribusiness innovations during their stay for evokeAG. 2024.

South West tour, Friday 23 – Sunday 25 February 2024

The South West of WA, located three hours drive south of the capital city of Perth, is renowned for its spectacular natural beauty and fertile farmland, with premium food and wine at the forefront of production in this region.

As part of evokeAG. 2024, the South West Development Commission invites delegates to register their interest in participating in a three-day tour of the region (February 23-25) that includes exploring the famous Margaret River region and meeting with local producers to learn about their sustainability programs and innovative production processes.

Tour highlights include attending the opening of the new Food and Innovation Precinct of WA and visits to the world’s first commercial abalone ranch (also producing ocean-cellared wine), a winery, craft brewery and a craft farm producer.
