In accordance with the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Declared Pest Account) Regulations 2014, the Minister for Agriculture and Food carries out consultation on Declared Pest Rates (DPR), towards the end of each financial year, to be considered prior to the rates being determined and gazetted.

Following consultation, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) releases a summary of the submissions received, and provides a response to any significant issues raised in the submissions.

The annual consultation is a valuable process to enable DPIRD to gauge landholder perceptions of the Declared Pest Rate.

DPIRD appreciates the efforts of those who take the time to lodge submissions.
