Organic food & farming
Expanding markets for organic products reflect increasing consumer interest in how foods are grown and treated. This relates to the health, environmental and social impacts of food choices.
Organic products involve virtually all sectors of agriculture and food, and represent a high-value business option for primary producers and food processors. In Western Australia, organic businesses comprise a wide range of enterprises including large food processors, corporate and family farms, small landholders and boutique food processors.
The Department of Agriculture and Food is working with commercial producers and supply chain partners to assist the development of the organic industry in Western Australia.
