Objectives
To ensure a co-ordinated and inclusive approach to effective networking with key industry leaders and stakeholders.
Activities
- Determined the key stakeholders for the project at Chief Executive Officer (CEO) level:
- key influencer contact list (May 2016) – developed to ensure all key players in industry had a direct link to SIBI.
- Regular and personal communication with key stakeholders:
- managed the alliance of processors and live exporters (June 2016) – met on a regular basis with the representatives of the five export processors and three live exporter companies
- SIBI reference group – established meetings as needed with our industry reference group
- maintained regular contact with a range of industry interest groups, such as Invest West Alliance, AgConnect and industry funding bodies.
- regular and personal communication with key stakeholders as identified by the key influencer contact list to ensure all key players had a direct link to SIBI
- maintained regular contact with the Sheep Alliance of Western Australia who acted as SIBI’s reference group
- managed the alliance of processors and live exporters by meeting with the representatives of the processors and live exporter companies on a regular basis and providing regular contact to ensure that this stakeholder group’s needs are met
- continued to implement the grower group engagement strategy, providing regular and personal communication to improve linkages and opportunities with grower groups
- maintained regular contact with a range of industry interest groups – such as Invest West Alliance, Ag Connect and industry funding bodies.
Outcomes and achievements
The informal relationship established with key stakeholders within the sheep supply chain, with regular ongoing contact, increased significantly as the SIBI project progressed, raising awareness of the SIBI project and its activities.
