The impact of early sowing and oat phenology on grain yield and quality is being investigated at three sites across the WA wheatbelt in a new GRDC-funded DPIRD research trial. Plots are being irrigated to simulate a range of early-sowing opportunities. Pictured is the pre-sowing irrigation process being carried out at Nunile north-east of Toodyay in April.
