I have extensive experience working on terrestrial invertebrates in taxonomy, conservation, biogeography, fire ecology, recolonisation and invasive ecology. I’ve worked at Curtin University, University of Melbourne, University of Western Australia, WA Museum, and have been at the DPIRD since 2015. I have written over 50 scientific papers/book chapters, which included describing 5 new genera and 28 new species with collaborators. A specialist of Hemiptera (true bugs), I’ve delivered training courses on Auchenorrhyncha, and Tomato Potato Psyllid (TPP), plus I’ve submitted a National diagnostic protocol for the Meadow Spittlebug Philaenus spumarius, and managed the National TPP and CLso surveillance project, funded by Hort Innovation Australia. I’m on several boards, including the WA Threatened Species Scientific Committee (since 2012), and the board of the Australian Entomological Society (since 2018), serving as President of the latter since November 2022.
