My role in the department
Wayne is a research scientist in soil science, currently working on DPIRD soil constraint projects and delivering to clients throughout the state. He enjoys working with growers, grower groups and the GRDC to develop solutions to complex soil and agronomic challenges.

My background
Wayne has been building his professional knowledge since 2002 with DPIRD. His areas of expertise include developing and sustaining key networks that are fundamental to collaboration with growers. Current interests include soil compaction, lime incorporation, effective leadership, weed seed removal and development of tactical farming systems.
Projects
- Increased grower profitability on soils with sodicity and transient salinity in the eastern grain belt of the Western Region, DAW1902-001RTX
- Re-engineering soils to improve the access of crop root systems to water and nutrients stored in the subsoil, DAW1902-003RTX
