My role in the department

As manager of the Geraldton Office, I have responsibility for providing support in the production of positive results for the agri-food sector centred around Geraldton and extending across the grain growing region between Esperance and Kalbarri. A key area of focus is providing quality facilities such as office accommodation, laboratories and sheds to house research equipment from which staff can deliver high quality projects. As a DPIRD representative for the region I also have a role in engaging with agri-business, grower and community groups and other government agencies to enable a two-way flow of information and provision of services. Engagement with the agribusiness sector also includes identifying and promoting industry development opportunities. Finally, I am also involved in the emergency response preparedness of the Geraldton Office through the development of emergency management plans and liaison with emergency services organisations.
