Chemical requirements

When using any agricultural chemicals please ensure that you always follow instructions on the label and any permit. Users of agricultural chemical products must always strictly comply with the directions on the label and the conditions of any permit. Chemical control options

Recommended herbicides:

  • Picloram + tricolopyr

Herbicide: Picloram + triclopyr (Group I) (various trade names: see APVMA link)

Active ingredient

100g/L picloram + 300g/L triclopyr

Rate of product/10L water

35mL

Wetting agent

Add at recommended rate as per label

Remarks

  • Apply to trees 1-3m tall and thoroughly wet foliage
  • Also the product Grazon® Extra containing 8g/L aminopyralid in addition to 100g/L picloram + 300g/L triclopyr

Herbicide: Access (Group I)

Active ingredient

120g/L picloram (iso-octyl ester) + 240g/L triclopyr (butoxyethyl ester)

Rate of product/ha

1:60 in distillate

Remarks

  • Treat plants up to 5cm stem diameter
  • Treat all stems on multiple stemmed plants
  • Root suckering may occur and will require treating

  2. 755g/L triclopyr

  1. 600g/L triclopyr
    1. 16mL/10L water for trees 1-2m tall

    1. 11mL/10L water for trees 1-2m tall
    2. 22 mL/10L water for trees 2-3m tall
