Significant service disruption - latest update

Access to buildings and facilities at our South Perth facility at 3 Baron-Hay Court has been significantly restricted, disrupting DPIRD Diagnostics and Laboratory Services.

The decision to restrict access has been made based on results received from recent testing for asbestos on site.

All DDLS services are currently suspended.

The department is working to restore services as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, some services may experience ongoing disruptions for some time.

While direct provision of DDLS services remains suspended, we are now able to receive samples that have been triaged by us for priority testing. Our current focus is to confirm or exclude notifiable pests and diseases.

To assist us in managing the situation we ask that you:

  • Email DDLSupdates@dpird.wa.gov.au about testing to confirm or exclude notifiable pests and diseases.
  • Do not send samples to South Perth unless DDLS staff have told you to do so.
  • Avoid contacting us about anything that is not critical or urgent.

All service requests are being triaged, please wait for DDLS to contact you about your request.

We are prioritising restoration of critical and urgent services and will provide more information and updates as they become available.

We understand that many of our staff provide you with specialist trusted advice. We are disappointed that we cannot currently provide you with this level of service at this time. You can help us by emailing your requests and waiting for an email response or call back.

We apologise for the significant impact of this disruption and value your cooperation.
