About this event
The event will showcase the latest in business development and research innovations and will provide an opportunity for all those involved in the industry to get an insight into the rapidly changing global food production landscape. The program includes several leading stakeholders, who will share their experiences and knowledge in adapting to the changing technology, consumer expectations and operating environment.
The focus of this year’s event will be:

Mike Lee, Principal Futurist, The Future Market
Mike is a frequent global speaker on the future of food. The Future Market explores what our food system could look like in the next 5 to 10 years. The Future Market works with established food companies to research and envision the future of food and develop the strategies that will enable them to thrive in that future.
Dr Roger Lawes, CSIRO farming systems scientist & team leader for Digital Decisions
Roger specialises in understanding the complexities of the digital supply chain and has used this unique skill set to develop digital technologies for agriculture. He has a long track record attracting research funds and managing complex, multi-agency projects. He has led research projects in precision agriculture, crop nutrition, C4 grass pasture systems, farming systems and crop rotations, farm economics and digital agriculture. In addition, Roger has research interests in ‘big data' applied statistics, remote sensing and crop modelling.
Sam Bailey, Farmer, pilot and best-selling author
As an entertaining closing speaker, Sam inspires us by sharing how he beat the odds to achieve his dreams of becoming a farmer, learning to ride a four-wheel bike; devising a hoist to get into farm machinery and ultimately learnt to fly an ultralight – all in his wheelchair!
MC: Elizabeth (Liz) Brennan
Liz is a dynamic leader in Australia’s agricultural sector, with experience as a facilitator of aid programs, international research and community development projects, and a consultant and mentor. Her experience working in cross-cultural settings in Australia and Papua New Guinea provides her with an adaptive and perceptive skillset that informs her people-centred, deeply considered, and strategic approach. In addition to her consulting work, Liz is a Non-Executive Director with Wide Open Agriculture (ASX:WOA) and the Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network of WA, and a Councillor with the National Farmers’ Federation Young Farmers’ Council.
